Off the Black

Semi-warm weather has finally arrived. The time of year to take stock of one’s wardrobe, as the change of season necessitates packing up winter gear and unearthing spring/summer clothes.
I packed away my winter stuff, which mostly consists of black or grey pieces, items which are in stark contrast to the riot of colour emerging from storage. I am seemingly more adventurous with clothing colour choices in the spring/summer. Last year, around this time I started to embrace the non-black. I bought shirts, skirts and little sweaters in peach, green and pink. This season I am on the hunt for lemon yellow, anything but black.
One of the girlz here commented on my spring outfit, I thanked her for the compliment and mentioned that I was making an attempt to get out of my black wardrobe comfort zone. This led to a conversation about office fashion. It can be quite a challenge to come up with head-to-toe ensembles in non-black, especially if you have a thing for black leather heels. So a mini-challenge was issued amongst us girlz, to embrace the non-black.
So far, the girlz have risen to the challenge and I can report that:
* Jen, is also rockin’ the non-black, recently seen in navy and silver
* Jos, is pretty in pink
* Sandra, ahead of the fashion curve with heels in red and purple leather
* Farah, boasts an impressive collection funky spring blouses
