Foxy Lady?

I’m pretty set in my ways (cue collective “no shit” from all who know me) so change is a big deal. I like my routine and don’t like when things veer off-course. So the fact that I’m considering a rather large change in my life is a little disconcerting. Especially since it’s completely my initiative. What is this huge change I’m considering which will have a dramatic effect on my life?
I’m considering switching to Firefox. (Cue dramatic GASP from the internet).
Yes folks, it’s true. I haven’t even switched to Explorer 7 for the same reason- I hate change. I’m set in my ways. I have all my links nicely lined up where I like them and can find them in my sleep and having to reset them all. Ok laziness is part of it for sure. But lately, Explorer just isn’t cutting it. It won’t load some of my most used websites properly, such as CFRB-AM and Hotmail. Both seem to prefer Firefox, which is particularly weird for Hotmail, don’t you think? (Bill? Are you listening?) My father uses Firefox because he tries to stay away from Microsoft whenever possible, but he might have the right idea for once;)
Many of my colleagues say Firefox is faster. I’m inclined to agree. It seems to be the browser of choice for bloggers and social media fanatics, so there must be something to it.
So what do you use? Are you an Explorer or a Foxer? Am interested to hear what everyone prefers and why.
In the mean time, I’ll be quivering violently about making this monumental change on my own accord and wondering what I’ve gotten myself into. (Cue collective eye roll about my pathetic dramatics).

The reasons for using Firefox are many and not simply because it isn’t Bill. Firefox is better; as WordPerfect is superior to Word.
And, while I’m at it, keep blogging. You write well. Of course, some would argue that I am biased. Nevertheless, you write well.
Love, Dad

Hehehe… cute title.
I’ve had Firefox on my comp and my laptop since they were in BATA and I keep them around “just in case”
Da Fox and I had some issues a while back when it turned out that users of said browser who visited my site couldn’t see some of the graphics. This lead to an entire redesign. Now everything works well.
Firefox also paved the way for the new Explorer’s look and style. Personally, if I had to chose between Explorer 7 and Firefox, I would pick Da Fox.

You’ll love it Jos, I’m sure you will. Once you get used to tabbed browsing, it’s hard to imagine a browser working any other way.
To add to the list, I think one of the nice things about Firefox is that it makes the transition from IE relatively painless.
First, it will import all your IE bookmarks (oh, sorry, your “Favorites”) when you first install, giving you a much more flexible bookmark management function into the bargain. Plus they’ve made sure that most of the shortcut keys and menu options in IE are mirrored in Firefox.
There’s even an entire section in the help system designed to ease the transition for IE users.
And when you DO switch to FF, you should make sure to grab a copy of IE View (http://tinyurl.com/2zhcc7) – a little plugin that lets you open any page you’re viewing in IE (with a simple right mouse click), so you can easily switch between old & busted and new hotness

Hmmm… that should read BETA not BATA.
Maybe Firefox can help my fingers from making dumb keyboard mistakes.

Once you head into the fire you’ll never turn back. The tabbing and plugins and load time, oh my!
Ditto everyone, including your dad, that Firefox is the better browser!
