Hi Lisa- Sorry about the lack of updates! Us Girlz have been insanely busy and will get back on the blogging when things quiet down next month.

Thanks for the concern and we'll talk to you all soon!

In defense of Valentine's Day...
It is definitely true that partners should and do express their love for one another in a myriad of ways throughout the year. But, although Valentine's Day may be a hallmark holiday, this isn't a reason to hate it. The same argument could be made about Christmas, which doesn't even mark Christ's birth (which occured during summer months I believe) and people of faith (disclaimer: not me) celebrate their beliefs throughout the year, but there's something special about setting aside the day to honor everything that Christianity stands for. The same things stands for Valentine's Day - why not have a holiday that represents love. Perhaps the best way to celebrate V Day would be to reposition it as a holiday based on all kinds of love, not just for couples.

Ps. My V Day consists of champagne and fried chicken with my husband. It's indulgent and our way of doing something "special."

I understand your point, but once you have children that perspective might change. When you have children, you are so busy that you just don't have time for all the little romantic times and it is nice to have a holiday remind you to spend some quality time together.
