Unique perspectives from women in PR

Getting in the game

Posted by PRGirlz Alumni on June 28th, 2006

Before joining Thornley Fallis in 2005, I knew blogs existed but I really hadn’t thought about how they were relevant to my world, especially to the world of PR. Now here I am seven months later and I am actually writing my first blog entry. It has been very exciting over the last few days to see how my fellow PR Girlz have been receiving comments on their posts. Some of these comments have been strange and others inspiring. It is great to see that this early on in the game, the voice of PR Girlz is already being heard and is being met with enthusiasm. As we move forward, I look forward to offering my perspective on the PR industry, as having been in it now for over six years, I feel I have learned so much and have come a long way. I know that I have much further to go in my workplace journey and I look forward to sharing my experiences as one of the PR Girlz.

    Marissa,

Blogs are relevant to everyone’s world these days. Blogging has gone above and beyond people posting pictures of their family vacations and pets and become the best way possible to introduce new ideas and help people understand new things. Blogging makes everyone seem more human and more within reach than ever before.

As I said on my blog/site, PR Girlz is a breath of fresh air and I’m glad that so many women can share their thoughts in one place. I wish you and your colleagues the best of luck.

The only thing better than having one new female voice blogging, is having many new voices, all with experience and ideas, working towards a common goal.

Hey Marissa, I just started finding out about blogging this summer, and i’ve been blogging a couple times a week but haven’t been getting much traffic. I am still a student and my teacher told us about prgirlz, and I like what i have been reading. How are you promoting this site and getting more traffic for your blogs?
