PR Girlz

Unique perspectives from women in PR

My first blog!

Posted by Jennifer on June 21st, 2006

Well here it is, my first blog! For those of you who know me this is quite a leap forward. A fellow blogger was just in my office showing me how to manage my way around the PR Girlz site and how to go about writing my first blog…here it is it may not be pretty or profound but it is MY first blog!

I decided to enter the world of blogging when I noticed that there were not many women in the blogosphere talking about public relations…the glorious and the not so glorious work we do. It is my mission to get the conversation about women in PR started…who knows, one day we might dominate the social media world just like we dominate the PR world – one can only dream!

Thanks for reading and now that I have completed my first blog and it was not so scary, I look forward to writing many more!

Thank you for your kind words! I actually love the blog world and am working on my next posting. I hope to make this site helpful, inspirational and a place where women (and men) can come and talk about best practices, trends in our industry and other interesting PR activities happening around the globe. If you have any suggestions please send them along.

    Talk with you soon.

    I’ll heartily echo Donna’s words!

And girl-blogger to girl-blogger, I hope you’ve listed your new site at http://www.blogher.org ’s blog directory, and http://www.blogsbywomen.org/ . There’s a dynamic community of women bloggers out there ready to offer you lots of support and encouragement.

(I’m sure that Joseph Thornley has already toured you around the hot spots in the Canadian and PR blogging communities, or I’d include those links as well.)

I’m looking forward to reading you and your co-bloggers, Jennifer.

    Very best wishes,

    Shaula
